–Helps shape the lives of the next generation of women leaders via campus initiatives.

–Advocates for policies that advance equity for women and girls.
–Supports challenges to sex discrimination in higher education and the workplace.
–Provides educational opportunities for women as one of the world’s largest sources of funding for graduate women.

In principle and in practice, AAUW and the Greater Naples Branch value and seek an inclusive membership and board of directors. Membership is open to all those holding an associate degree or equivalent, bachelors or higher degree, and to those pursuing a college degree. AAUW and the Greater Naples Branch welcome all eligible persons regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, national origin, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status, offering the camaraderie of educated, informed women and the mental stimulation of life-long learning to all. Membership is not by invitation.
Annual dues of $109 include membership in the AAUW Greater Naples Branch, AAUW Florida and the National organization, as well as subscriptions to each organization’s newsletters. $56 of your dues are tax deductible.
The Greater Naples Branch is one of the most active in Florida, with a membership of more than 100, and growing. Among other things:
–Our Public Policy Committee has been very busy advocating for women and girls and promoting AAUW National priorities;
—Member donations enabled our Foundation to award $12,000 in scholarships to five deserving local women last Spring;
–Approximately 100 fifth Grade Girls and their parent or guardian participated in our 21st annual STEM Girls Count Conference to encourage the girls’ interest in STEM fields and help their parent or guardian and teacher promote such interest.
–Approximately 2000 books, purchased with member donations, were distributed last season to children at Golden Terrace Elementary, where 96.4% of the students are on reduced or free lunches and only 18.3% come from homes where English is the first language.
Additionally, through our Branch meeting programs, Talks & Tours and our special interest groups (such as book groups, Great Decisions, Movie & a Meal and Non-sequiturs) members participate in life-long learning–and have fun in the process!
The Greater Naples Branch AAUW monthly program meetings are open to all members and to the public.
